Perfect for apartments!
Both apartments that I have lived in so far did not allow any mounting on the walls. I also don't like to put in my own nails since it can be uneven. I have been using these for canvas art and frames. They work perfectly! They apparently hold up to 16 pounds though none of my items are that heavy. Nothing has fallen and they do not damage the walls. I actually stick both stickers to the frame before sticking it to the wall rather than sticking one on the frame and the corresponding one on the wall. I would recommend using the iPhone app to guarantee a straight placement. Works well every time.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (no really, it matters)
Fabulous....a bit difficult to get up, initially. You *need* to level your frame at the bottom then angle it up to place the tabs, and they're serious about letting those tabs sit for at least an hour before you hang the heavier pictures (learn from my fail). If you follow the instructions, they work *brilliantly*

Always my go too
How can you go wrong, no damage to your walls. I love these things. I've only used a few throughout the last few years but I recently redid the entire house and decided to only use commands strips to put anything on the wall. And it has worked great thus far. I noticed it keeps picture frames about a 1/8 off the wall due to the thickness of the command strips. Sometimes when you have pictures on the wall and take them down after some time they leave dark marks on the walls. I noticed the didn't happen with the few command strips I used in the beginning compared to pictured hung up with nails. I obviously didn't use it on my 50lb mirror but I was able to use them on the bottom corners to prevent it from moving. I would definitely recommend if you don't want to ruin your walls. Or if you rent and are not allowed to put nails in the walls.

Great Product
I love these things. I did a wall collage that looks great. I wasn't sure they would hold some of the heavy frames but now after a few months they are still there and stable. Make sure to use the correct commands for the weight it will hold. I also had to fix a couple that I put in the wrong place. No problem. I just removed and placed in proper place. Still Holding..... :)

Other purposes, still works.
Rigged it for my own use. One side of the strip I sewed into my window curtain and used the other strip with the adhesive to the interior window siding. It’s been sturdy and has not allowed my cat to penetrate through it. P.S. I’m not a mean owner but my landlord only agreed to one pet that we had when we moved in. This stray kitten was abandoned by the mother in my backyard. He’s not a bad cat but I just can’t have him chilling at the front window where he will be seen. He has access to two other windows, if that eases your mind. 😬

but really didn't like the idea of putting holes in them
I wanted to hang pictures on the back of our kitchen cabinets, but really didn't like the idea of putting holes in them. Someone recommended these to me, and I'm so glad they did. It actually made hanging pictures much easier. I put one up a little crooked, but could just pull it off, put the level on top, and stick it back onto the velcro straight. They're pretty heavy pictures too, but they've been up for months now and I'm not at all worried they'll fall down. I got another pack to put a bluetooth speaker in my boyfriend's car. It really keeps it in place on the dash, since it's much stronger than regular velcro, and since it pulls off so easily we don't have to worry about it damaging the leather. Great for a variety of projects!

Work great. NOT TWO SIDED. BOTH SIDES ARE THE SAME.
I was expecting generic velcro. But, these strips are not like velcro with one fuzzy loop surface and a second with hooks. BOTH sides of these look the SAME. I am not sure exactly how they work, but they do stick together. They make a snapping sound when they are pressed together. I purchased the large size and the large ones really aren't that big. I am glad I didn't buy smaller hanging strips. Because I have never used this brand before and the strips are much cheaper than what I am hanging, I doubled up and used twice as many strips. I didn't want my new designart metal wall art falling off the wall. The metal edges are sharp and the aluminum will dent. I placed all the strips vertically on the back of the art. None horizontally. I haven't had any failures with the strips yet. But, I will update if anything crashes to the floor.

Fantastic when directions are followed
These large strips are fantastic! I had some trouble with pictures falling when I first used these, even though I thought I followed the instructions. But at that time, I didn't clean the wall first with rubbing alcohol because the wall looked clean. What I didn't realize is that the smallest speck of dust makes a difference. Now I clean the wall, allow it to completely dry, and these things stick like those old super glue commercials, where the glue is pulling up a car. Seriously, now when I need to remove one, it wants to cling to the wall so tight sometimes I can't pull it off. That's okay with me! No more broken frames to replace! YAY!!

These Really Hold Strong; Easy To Remove Without Ripping Out Wall Paint Or Picture Frame Backing
I've used these for a very long time and I could not be more pleased with them. These are easy to apply and easy to remove when no longer needed without ripping out the paint on the wall or backing on the picture frame. Strong, too. The adhesive strength on the back is more than sufficient for even larger picture frames as long as you have sufficient numbers of them interspersed along the frame. The velcros do not use the traditional hook and loop pairing to work. The velcros are all identical and have surfaces covered with what would be best described as teeth (for interlocking with other teeth). This means each piece of velcro will work with every other piece and there is no need to match up the velcros the way traditional hook and loop velcros have to be matched up. When fully interlocked, the velcros provide a LOT of lateral strength -- more than required for the purposes of holding up picture frame. They are also fairly easy to disengage; simply pry them apart. The ease with which they can be pried apart makes it a big plus when it comes times to change out the pictures in the picture frames. Once you're done changing out the pictures, simply line the velcros on the picture frame back up with those on the wall, press down firmly over locations where the velcros are located, and you're done. I really love these 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips. They are a big pricey in my opinion, but if you don't want to put holes in your walls and want a super fast and easy way to put up picture frames, these absolutely cannot be beat. Highly recommended!

As of March 2019, these "Command" strips from 3M worked perfectly fine for me!
If you're looking to hang something up on your walls without causing damage with drywall anchors and screw holes, check out these "Command" strips from 3M. They even came with detailed instructions on how to use them. The strips do come in black or white, but I went with black to match the colors I was working with. The best part about using this method, Command strips leave no sticky adhesive behind when you want to remove them! I would highly recommend this product for your hanging needs. *Some other reviews have stated that the backs of these strips didn't peel off cleanly. However, I didn't encounter that issue at all as of March 2019.
