We have no problem with customers arriving at 1 minute to go... as long as they’re gone in 60 seconds. My company pays our staff an additional 15 minutes to do the ‘closing’. The fun begins when a customer wants to purchase alcohol and our licence only allows to sell that up until 23:00, the tills don’t allow us to scan it as soon as it says 23:01... So we tell customers in the last 5 minutes the situation... they arrive at 23:01 and we can’t sell it to them. Like I said, Fun.

Had a customer who refused all attempts to help her prior to closing time. So we get to closing time and she finally needs my help. Kept me 45 minutes over. Wrote a negative review about me because I wasn't enthusuastic enough.

Maria Agapiou Cignarella

Technically they are right you know.

Roh Rayman

Half the people in this comment section are fucking assholes and you can tell they clearly haven't worked retail or customer service before.

Dianne Marsters

What if I told you closing time is when all the customers are meant to be going out, not the last possible moment for a customer to come in.

Imran Barlass

I apologize when it happens because I've been there. I hated the people who do this. When you apologize they usually say no problem, but they secretly hate me but that's okay, I feel better about it.

Love Die

Look I worked in bars and restaurants in Panama and I witnessed horrible things done to people’s food who ran in a minute before closing time. So yeah maybe just don’t

Rebecca Carothers

They are entitled to use the store as long as advertised. Afterwards you can throw them out

Sheelagh Kathryn Lovaas

Except the manager, who does a Fortnite dance as he walks to his expensive sports car.

Subee Karmacharya

Wtf is ur problem .... maybe we worked all day and thats when we can manage to come.

Crystal Trofholz

Then close earlier.

Lisa Hicks

Part timed as a cashier before, it kinda felt good when few apologized for dropping by at the last moment...

Jessica Lettunich

Is it still within trading hours? Yes? Then it's your fuckin problem. If you don't like it, get out of retail.

Tigist Seid

Ahh, the joys of working with customers

Sonni Hill

Oh no. . . You tell them you are closed. That shit is not happening.

Stacy Smith

The owner... hi money giver , how can my employees can assist you?

Su San

Restaurante owner speaking... that's not a problem coming in with 1 minute before the kitchen closes, not at all. Even after the closure of the restaurant... the least we, the staff, expect is that you have the minimum respect for the people that are not there to be you "security guard" while you have a safe conversation about your day with your husband Susan! We just wanna go home; then you got to getting in, order, eat whatever the fuck and move the fuck on! Thank you, the staff!

Sanam Samiullah

I wouldn't go work at a place that has to stay open longer for late-arriving assholes

Dalia Avila

Well back in the day the shop closed their door five minutes before closing time so that you couldn’t get in but only out. After the first time you knew you had to be early. Nowadays they only close their doors at that time and employees don’t get paid after their official working hours, but still have to work. It’s absolutely stupid.
