This is another great toy by learning resources. I bought this for my daughter when she was 2. Now 3 she still plays with it daily. She loves punching the numbers in, but her favorite part is the open button that ejects the spring loaded drawer. I put the coins away until she is older, because I fear she will choke on them. She loves the paper money and the pretend credit card. I can see her and my son playing with this toy for at least 10 more years. It is very durable. She has dropped it many times and it hasn't skipped a beat. The plastic is high quality. I would definitely buy this product again. Note there is another one that looks exactly the same but it has a scale by the same company.

This Learning Resources play cash register is such a great way to teach my kids about money! Once the novelty of opening and closing the drawer wore off, we were able to begin discussing how to count money and which denominations were worth more. My 6 year old has known how to identify certain coins for a while, but she is now understanding how many pennies it takes to make a dollar, etc. Not only can she count the money, she can also count back change! My 3 year old loves playing with his sister, and she loves being his teacher. I could have never predicted how many hours they would each spend playing with this toy. The cash register is plastic, with a functioning solar powered calculator. It makes a “ka-ching” noise when the money drawer opens, and has paper bills, plastic coins, and a pretend credit card. My kids have been pretty gentle with this toy (more so than other toys), but is has taken a couple accidental falls from higher surfaces such as our cat stand (don’t ask) without incurring any damage. Not only has this toy been academically stimulating to my children, it has encouraged pretend play and social interaction. My 3 year old incorporates Batman into every play scenario in house, and Batman proudly guards the money in this register! My children are enjoying this so much that I’m going to buy some additional play money to use with it.

I purchased the first one in 2007 for my youngest daughter. She outgrew it and it was passed down to my grandkids. About 4yrs ago, the numbers no longer showed up on the screen but the rugrats still played with it. Then 2 days ago, I took it apart to find out why the numbers were not showing, I really wanted to fix it because this cash register was one of my favorite items. After we got it opened up, my husband and I looked at each other and said, "what are we looking at?" Anywhoo, we deduced that something may have been spilled and leaked inside because it was sticky. Sadly, because I loved this cash register and wanted to have it forever, I ordered the same one. I hope that this one also lasts for 13+ years. Yes, when it is new the drawer shoots out and the coins may take a leap. But when the spring loosens up a bit, it will be fine. I don't like how stiff the paper money is, it's hard to manipulate. I'm excited to let my 4yr old granddaughter know that she can now play and see the numbers.

This was the BEST gift for our almost-3 year old. He LOVES it and I'm thankful it will serve as a powerful resource for learning about money and numbers and counting in the years to come. Currently he loves to play "Chick-fil-A" and take our orders and tell us how much it costs. We then give him our money (or the debit card) and he puts it in the cash register. This is literally his favorite toy right now and I know it will last a long time because of the high quality. Learning Resources offers such wonderful, educational toys.

I purchased this cash register for my grandson who is 5. He is extremely smart and knows a lot because of all of us at home teaching him plus the pre-school he has been going to until the Coronavirus hit. We are more or less home-schooling him. We are teaching him the amounts of money and what they look like. We are using adding, subtracting, and also having fun with it. He plays store a lot. We have to be the customers, and he is at the register. We do a lot of math problems with him. He has to figure out how much to give back or not. We do confuse him a little but he comes back strong I do believe this helps him grow and learn and would definitely recemmend this

This is one of the better pretend registers that I have seen. My nephew really enjoyed it for his fifth birthday. The money looks like real American dollars and the coins are the appropriate size and color for the money that they represent. I think it gives a good handle on mathematics as it applies to life. The built-in calculator is nice for many reasons. It's not just a pretend machine with fake sound effects, like what would be appropriate for a younger child, it functions as a calculator as well. The product seemed well-made and the colors are good for either gender. I would definitely suggest this for any child interested in money, mathematics or counting, or playing pretend at the grocery store.

This was to replace a cheap little pretend cash register. We added a counter to our grandsons toy kitchen so now they use this area mainly as a cafe or store. This cash register is perfect, holds bigger bills and coins, is an actual calculator and solar so not accidentally leaving it on for battery to die. We are able to work in some basic adding and money skills while having a great time. It came with lots of money, I bought the extra pack as we have three little ones playing most of the time and have not even opened the extra yet. Well worth the money.

This is a fun play register, with working solar powered calculator and cash drawer that pops open. The register has a button battery to power the drawer and battery is safely secured inside a compartment by a philips screw .(This is a good safety feature, because it prevents children from removing and swallowing the battery, which is a life threatening emergency due to battery acid causing holes in the stomach). Included with the register are great quality plastic coins and play bills. I laminated the play bills ( 5 fit on a standard letter size lamination sleeve) and this will make the bills last longer for classroom use. The bills are nice size, equal or a little larger than real bills. Kids will love playing with this register and great for home or classroom to make learning money skills more fun.

Our son saw this in one the preschools we visited and really wanted one! I was so happy to find it on Amazon. he got right into it and loves to say " my friends all call me calculator *** ( I left his name out). It is a great learning tool for all sorts of pretend play and practical application. Money makes begins to mean something real to a 4 year old, and it is just great as a teaching math tool as well if your child wants to know more . This cash register is also very very sturdy and really does take a lot of use .

Every one of my children of various ages love this toy! I remember always wanting a play cash register as a kid, as well, and this one is the best available one, in my opinion. This one is great because the money is life-size and the calculator really works, so my 9-year-old really enjoys playing with it. It's easy to use and comes with a play credit card, as well. Awesome toy!
